Words of Wisdom from Mr. Varner

Howdy, Boys!!!!!!

I'm Roy Varner. Cubmaster for

Bellaire Cub Scouts Pack 130.

Welcome to scout year 2009-2010!!!!!

If you are new to our Pack, WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are a returning Scout, WELCOME BACK!!!!

We have a lot in store for you. Scouting in the U.S.A. is celebrating its 100th Birthday

this year and you are all invited to the party!

Each of you is a part of what I consider to be one of the greatest organizations on the

planet. I can think of no other group that offers the opportunities that Scouting offers.

This year, among other activities, you will find yourself:

1. ✤Collecting food for kids and families that are far less fortunate than you
   

2. ✤Lining up for S’mores by the campfire then sleeping under the stars at some
   

3. ✤Exciting overnight camp-outs
   

4. ✤Hiking in the great outdoors with your friends and learning outdoor skills
   

5. ✤Racing down the track at our annual Pinewood Derby
   

6. ✤Launching a rocket into space at our annual Rocket Day
   

You may even meet someone who you do not yet know that will become a friend for life.

You can and should be very proud to wear the Uniform of a Cub Scout. Many U.S.

Presidents, Astronauts, Professional Athletes, and Captains of Industry proudly wore the

Blue and Gold when they were kids.

Your parents, teachers, and den leaders might have MANY rules for you to follow, but I

only have two.

1. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST and
   

2. HAVE FUN! ! !!! !!! !!! !!!! !!!! !! !! !!
   

With your eager participation in our Pack and Den activities and strict adherence to the

above 2 rules, this promises to be one of the best, coolest, colossal fun years EVER!!! ! ! !

So have a seat. Buckle your safety belt. Grab the hand rail. Keep your hands inside the

car at all times. And get ready for a WILD RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
